Omschrijving

In this course you will familiarize yourself with a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose tumours of bones and joints. A systematic approach to the groups of frequently occurring bone tumours, which can also be encountered outside specialized centers, is advocated in lectures admixed with practical training in the form of computerized radiology and microscopy training, and discussion of relevant molecular diagnostics. The emphasis is multidisciplinary and focuses on the interaction between pathologists, radiologists, clinical scientists in pathology (KMBP) and orthopaedic surgeons, which is crucial to come to an adequate diagnosis. The faculty is composed of pathologists, radiologists, clinical scientists in pathology (KMBP) and orthopedic surgeons.

Educational objectives

  • To practice with and experience the benefit of a multidisciplinary approach to bone lesions.
  • To increase knowledge of the diagnostic criteria of a variety of primary bone tumours.
  • To understand the genetic background and the role of molecular diagnostics in the diagnosis of bone tumours.

Target group

The course is meant for (trainee) pathologists, orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists, clinical oncologists, clinical scientists in pathology (KMBP) and paediatricians. Maximum number of participants is 28.
